Endeavour Departs ...

After another successful mission to the International Space Station (ISS), NASA's Shuttle Endeavour crew is preparing for a return to Earth on the 31st of July. The top picture shows the Endeavour backing away and down from the ISS, its cargo bay doors still open and the bay nearly empty. Click here to learn more about the STS127 mission.

The backing photo shows one of the many solar panels that power the ISS. The space station has nearly doubled in living area during the past year, and now has about as much room inside as a 5-bedroom home. Click here to learn more about the ISS.

NASA is often asked, "Why do all of this stuff in space when we have so many problems here on Earth?" It's a good question, and to read NASA's answer, click here.
